What is a SAPI?
SAPI stands for service access point identifier. It is a 6-bit field in a Q.921 Layer-2 ISDN message. SAPI identifies the message type. Technically, it identifies the point where Layer 2 provides a service to Layer 3. For example, SAPI 0 is for call control procedures. SAPI is like a SAP in LLC.
